JESSIA – The Woman You Are

JESSIA’s new single “The Woman You Are” will make mother’s smile and bring tears to the eyes of daughters. The heartwarming song explores the beautiful bond that often exists between mothers and their daughters, especially when said mother is an insanely supportive one. It usually creates a bond so beautiful you don’t mind turning into your mom someday, or even half of her.

“’Cause you taught me to see mountains, as something to move / Anything that a man can do, I can do too / Go find silver linings, get lost in the clouds / This world doesn’t end at thе edge of this town / So go, give ‘еm Hell, you got nothing to lose,” she sings in the powerful track, detailing her coming of age story and how her mom encouraged her to find and make her own way. I’d be lying if I say these lines – “I’ll be there beside every version of you / You’re a woman with stories, a whole ‘nother life” – didn’t bring tears to my eyes.

JESSIA first teased the track on her social media pages, encouraging her fans to share it with their mothers.

“I’ve been wanting to write a song that celebrates mothers for a while now,” JESSIA writes on the inspiration behind the song. “I love seeing strong and powerful women raising strong and powerful women. I grew up seeing my mom as a superhero, and dreamed of living a life half as adventurous and exciting as hers. There comes a time in everyone’s life when they realize their parents are just people too who seek validation and love, just like us kids. ‘The Woman You Are’ is my way of saying thank you to my mom for the years of encouragement and selflessness she has given me. I hope this song sparks more recognition for all the bad ass moms in this world because we wouldn’t be who we are without them.”

Since her 2021 single “I’m Not Pretty” blew up, even catching the attention of superstar Bebe Rexha, who happily jumped on the remix, JESSIA has managed to accumulate 375 million streams on all platforms.

In 2023, after boldly transitioning to moving on with her career as an independent artist, she took her music on the road with an Asia tour supporting OneRepublic and a sold-out Canadian tour with Dean Lewis. This year has seen her release “Care About You,” which has accumulated 1.5 million streams to date.
