Taylor Swift – You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)

When Swifties go hard for Taylor Swift, Taylor Swift goes even harder for them. To thank fans for making her the most streamed artist of 2023, she has decided to drop “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)” on streaming platforms. Yay!

The single first became available to purchase on Swift’s website for 24 hours only, before being added to a special “Midnights” CD that was only available to purchase at her The Eras Tour. However, since fans heard the song, they’ve been saying the same thing – Joe Alwyn. They believe Swift wrote the song during a downhill moment in their six-year relationship. Swift’s close friend and producer, Jack Antonoff, appeared to confirm this – or at least fan the flames even higher – when he shared that Swift wrote and recorded the song in her home two years ago.

The song is a pre-breakup song about losing interest in a partner but still praying the love you once felt can be reignited. “You say, “I don’t understand,” and I say, “I know you don’t” / We thought a cure would come through in time, now, I fear it won’t,” Swift sings in the first verse of her fears that her once beautiful romance may be coming to an end.

She then asks if she should keep everything they treasured because she fought so hard for the relationship, but “You might just have dealt the final blow.”

Every mornin’, I glared at you with storms in my eyes / How can you say that you love someone you can’t tell is dyin’?” she asks in the second verse. In the bridge, she tells us she isn’t ready for the relationship to die, as she begs him to make a move to revive their love: ““Do something, babe, say something” (Say something) / “Lose something, babe, risk something” (You’re losin’ me) / “Choose something, babe, I got nothing” (I got nothing) / “To believe, unless you’re choosin’ me.””

Ahead of the release of the single, Swift wrote on social media: “Um ok this is unreal?? I just wanted to say to anyone who listened to my music this year, anywhere in the world, thank you. Getting named Spotify’s Global Top Artist in 2023 is truly the best birthday/holiday gift you could’ve given me. We’ve seriously had THE MOST fun this year out there on tour and now this. Are you serious. So I was trying to think of a way to thank you, and a lot of you have been asking me to put “You’re Losing Me (From The Vault)” on streaming… so here you go! You can finally listen EVERYWHERE now.”

Long live all the magic we made.
