Alok, The Chainsmokers & Mae Stephens – Jungle

It’s a jungle out here when three of music’s chart-toppers combine their energy in an addictive single that’s a fine blend of all the artists’ styles. The Brazilian superstar Alok is just coming out of having a smash hit with the single “Car Keys” featuring Ava Max, while The Chainsmokers have repeatedly had hits with the likes of Halsey and Daya, and we all know Mae Stephens is having a wonderful year after her smash single, “If We Ever Broke Up,” became a trending hit on TikTok. So there has never been a better star alignment than at this moment for the trio to release their collaboration, “Jungle.” Judging from the song’s sweet piano riff and the 70 million monthly listeners that the artists boast combined, we might have a runaway hit on our hands.

I’m out, feeling lonely again / Am I too scared? Scared of letting you in? / Keep on hoping that you’ll stay ’til the end / Even when I hide,” Stephens sings in the infectious pop song about meeting the perfect person who can bravely explore the “jungle in my heart.”

Speaking of the stars aligning, Alok shared via a press release that the collaboration with The Chainsmokers reached “just right” proportions when they brought Stephens on board. “Jungle has been in the works with The Chainsmokers for over a year now and I’m glad we finally found the right mixture,” he said. “The addition of Mae was a perfect fit and the response we got premiering it at Tomorrowland in Belgium told us we were on to something special. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the final product and to perform it all over the world.”

The Chainsmokers also gushed about the epic collaboration, saying, “We couldn’t be more excited to be collaborating with Alok and Mae respectively. We have been friends and following Alok’s work for years and always admired his shows and have been trying to find the right record for over 4 years. We were both picky because we wanted to make a record we could both perform at the biggest shows but also something that lent itself to a fan outside of the festivals. Mae is also just a brilliant up-and-coming artist and she absolutely nailed the vocal. Hopefully like Alok we will have 1,000,000 ppl at our future shows thanks to this collaboration.”

The accompanying music video opens with three shapeshifting androids crash-landing on Earth and getting chased around by boats and guards. Through their eyes, we see a unique side of human experience when they shape-shift to blend in with the crowd at a music festival. All three experience different human emotions and pleasures throughout the music video giving viewers a cinematic experience.
