Tiësto’s long-awaited – and when I say long-awaited, I mean it – album Drive is finally here. Prior to the release of Drive, Tiësto teased the album by releasing several singles, including “The Business,” “Don’t Be Shy (with Karol G),” “The Motto (with Ava Max),” “Hot in It (with Charli XCX),” “10:35 (with Tate McRae),” and “All Nighter.” Together, they boast combined global streams of over 4.4 billion.
Drive is Tiësto’s first conceptual album since 2009 and pays tribute to his lifelong fascination with Formula 1 racing with its cover art.
The album’s release on Friday, April 21 was quickly followed by the release of the official video for “All Nighter” and a single powered by American rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. The dance track speaks of having a good time at a party in LA Hills, and, at the same time, finding the type of partner who knows what you need and can give it to you.
“I’m at this party in the LA Hills, LA Hills / Dropped the chills / I’m a spaceship in the galaxy / You know what I want, yeah, you know what I need / Twisted in my mind, we’re in-between / In-between, lost at sea / Can you be my captain and rescue me? / You know what I want, yeah, you know what I need,” A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie sings in the chorus, with effects almost making his voice unrecognizable.
Tiësto must be hoping this song makes it into dance floors around the world, enough for it to take the much-coveted title of “song of the summer.” The song’s dance-worthiness is helped by its catchy lines, which are repeated enough to imprint it on a listener’s mind with as little as two or three listens. As for the fans’ reaction to the song, they were quickly awed by its uplifting melody and vocal effects, and many confessed that they’d had it on a loop since its release.
The track is penned by Tiësto, Victor Sjöström, Viktor Broberg, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Sebastian Atas, and produced by Tiësto, Victor Sjöström, Viktor Broberg, and Sebastian Atas.
“I am so beyond excited for this project to be out in the world!” said Tiësto of the record which comprises 12 songs. “This album is something anyone can enjoy on the dancefloor, in the gym, on a car ride, anywhere or anytime you are looking for incredible sonics and energy. Seeing how much everyone is loving the string of singles has been incredible, and it was amazing putting the full album all together.”
