With a whole bunch of shirt ripping, backflips, and wild energy involved, I think it’s time for the world to start stanning rising rapper JELEEL!, don’t you? The 27-year-old from Rhode Island has arrived with his latest single “GNARLY” with Armani White, who blew up last year with the song “BILLIE EILISH.”
After recently debuting the song live at Rolling Loud Los Angeles, “GNARLY” follows January’s release of “RIDE THE WAVE!” And while the production of the song is different from what listeners are typically used to hearing from JELEEL!, we imagine this is going to be another anthem that is bound to have fans going crazy for in moshpits.
“Oh my God, girl, I’m so gnarly / Rip my shirt straight off my body / Angels with me, I feel like Charlie (Charlie) / Big flex, then I walk in the party,” he raps in the chorus.
“GNARLY! is one of those ones that just came together effortlessly,” JELEEL! said in a press release. “After the session, I ran into Armani White at a party and ended up showing him the song, and just a day or two after that he sent his verse and we turned it in. I’m excited for people to hear it as I haven’t really shown my rap flow as much and it’s definitely a side of me that people are going to hear a lot more of.”
JELEEL!’s back catalog is stacked with material. In 2019, he self-released the mixtape Angel From Heaven before dropping his debut EP, Generation Z. After the success of his most popular single, “DIVE IN!,” he signed a deal with 10K Projects in 2021, the home to Ice Spice, Leah Kate, and Trippie Red, to name a few.
With a debut album titled REAL RAW! expected to drop this Spring, we cannot wait to see JELEEL! continue to evolve.
