FLO – Losing You

British group FLO are back yet again with another new song to keep fans anticipating for what could be a huge 2023 for the emerging superstars. After all, it is the season for giving.

Made up of Stella Quaresma, Renée Downer, and Jorja Douglas, the London-based trio have delivered their final single for the year, “Losing You.” The cozy slow jam (produced by Joe Gosling, MNEK & RELYT) is laced with their warm, soulful harmonies and showcases another side to the group that wasn’t illustrated on their debut EP, The Lead. Known for their bad bitch energy lyrics, it appears FLO aren’t scared to let their guard down and get vulnerable.

While the love song might get listeners all up in their feelings, it is important to know that FLO knows their worth and are more than ready to move on without their significant other after going through a shitty experience. In the chorus, they sing: Losing you was easier than I thought it’d be / I’m happy on my own / It’s the first time I finally feel at home / Losing you is givin’ me everything I need / I’m happy that you’re gone / For the first time I’m fine, I’m finally feeling strong.”

In their press release, FLO discuss the song: “It’s fitting that ‘Losing You’ is being released this time of the year as it’s all about going through a loss but somehow being comforted by it. It reminds you of how content you are by yourself and finding that cheerful spirit during a tough time.”

Given that FLO debuted earlier this year in March, it goes without saying that their 2022 has been rather special. Following the viral hit “Cardboard Box” and receiving instant co-signs from the likes of Brandy, SZA, and Missy Elliott, FLO made sure everyone knew they aren’t no gimmick and have every intention of sticking around. In addition to their EP, The Lead, suprassing over 100 million global streams, they made history as the first group to ever win the prestigious BRIT Rising Star Award.

FLO’s list of achievements continues to increase, however. They became Apple Music’s most recent “Up Next” artist, a MTV PUSH UK & Ireland 2023 nominee, and have been shortlisted for the BBC Sound Of 2023.

With their upcoming headlines shows in London and Manchester selling out in just under 2 minutes, it needless to say that both fans and critics are very excited for the future of FLO. With a gap in the market for another girl group, we can’t wait to see them dominate 2023 with full force.
