Harry Styles established himself as a well-rounded entertainer in Hollywood through his music and acting over the years. He’s now flexing his creative prowess in a different way, through the creation of his new beauty brand Pleasing.
The new brand, which had been teased before launching preorders on Nov. 15, currently includes the Perfect Polish Set ($65), The Pleasing Pen ($30), and The Pearlesent Illuminating Serum ($35), in addition to single nail polishes. In an exclusive interview with Dazed, Styles discussed his vision for the brand, which started out as an idea for a nail polish line, and during the pandemic, it branched out into a full-blown brand, dedicated to the simpler things in life.

In the interview, Styles said, “I’ve always found that the moments in my life which have brought me the most joy are the small ones, whether it be, you know, the end of the night under the stars or a bite of food, or sitting with your friends thinking, ‘Oh, I’m never gonna forget this.’ It’s always those moments that I find have the longest-lasting effect on me, in terms of sparking something wonderful in me. I really think that the essence of Pleasing is finding those little moments of joy and showing them to people.”

But Pleasing is more than just a beauty brand; it’s his way of giving back to others, especially highlighting “talented people who might not necessarily have the light shone on them, and collaborating.”
In the spirit of collaboration, Styles and the Pleasing team chose to work with manicurist Sigourney Nuñez, a Mexican and Guatemalan nail artist from South East Los Angeles, for the Dazed photo shoot to launch the brand. In Pleasing’s dedicated post to her on Instagram, the brand highlights her nail art journey, which started back in 2013, when she created a nail art blog and used Instagram to share easy-to-recreate designs and techniques.

Since the presale launch, fans have also had the opportunity to get their hands on Pleasing’s Perfect Polish Set at pop-ups across Los Angeles. The brand has, so far, teamed up with local nail salons in the LA area to offer manicures to visitors as well. Styles, of course, dedicated the brand to his adoring fanbase.
“I am blessed to have fans who are so supportive of me, who believe in freedom and who have created this safe space for each other,” he told Dazed. “Pleasing is really for them. That feeling of community is kind of what we would like Pleasing to (reflect).”
All of Pleasing’s products are vegan, cruelty-free, gluten-free, and ethically sourced. The website notes that the brand “prioritize[s] people and the planet,” adding, “We know we can always do better and we strive to do so every day.” Products can be purchased for presale online at Pleasing’s website while supplies last. The official brand launch is Nov. 29.
