Peyton — Let It Flow (ft. Brice Blanco)

Having previously collaborated with The Internet’s very own Steve Lacy, Houston-based singer-songwriter Peyton is back with her first release of 2021, “Let It Flow.” The stunning new single features rapper Brice Blanco and hears Peyton confidently sing about moving on and following her gut instinct, in her angelic voice, of course. Its repetitive chorus “Time to let it go / Just let it flow” is sung with such pride, it’s hard not to fall in love.

“Following your own path can be scary, especially when there are many valid thoughts of doubt. ‘Let It Flow’ is an anthem and a mantra that encourages going with the flow and trusting your intuition,” Peyton said in a press release about the song.

To accompany the song is a music video directed by Uche OGB. Shot in Peyton’s mother’s hometown of Liberty, TX, her grandmother also makes an appearance. “This town in rural Texas was one of Peyton’s happy places growing up, where she would visit family and play freely. Now it’s a place where her ethereal femme energy can take center stage,” her press release states.

In various scenes, Peyton was captured riding a horse in the middle of a field. Towards the end, she can be seen living her best life while Blanco is rapping on top of a car.

“Let It Flow” is just a small taste of what’s to come. The singer, who is signed to Stones Throw, has announced that her debut album, PSA, is due out on July 23 and in it she draws upon a range of influences from the likes of Erykah Badu, J Dilla, and the late Prince. The LP’s overall theme is related to self-love and will consist of 12 tracks. Another collaboration listeners can expect is “Big Flexer” featuring Ian McGilber.

If you’re into Nao, Sinead Harnett, and Ravyn Lenae, then Peyton could be for you too.
