Wrangler Jeans have always been a symbol of freedom — from their conception as a denim manufacturer in 1904 to setting the industry standard for an exclusive denim mix that doesn’t shrink in the wash in 1936 to becoming a staple in every sensible young adult’s wardrobe in the 1980s. To celebrate Women’s History Month this March, Wrangler has added model Georgia May Jagger to the family to be the face of their newly inaugurated Women’s Heritage Collection, sporting the tagline “Turn Heads. Capture Hearts.”
According to Wrangler, the collection’s intention is to allow “the Wrangler® woman [to] confidently command attention while living by her own rules.” Jagger in particular embodies that sense of defiant confidence that comes with being comfortable in your own skin incredibly well. Photographed by legendary photographer Cass Blackbird in the global hub of authentic expression, New York City. With just a white tank top and a plethora of denim silhouettes, Jagger embodies what Wrangler describes as her “entrepreneurial spirit and swagger,” which draws in all of her 960K Instagram followers.
On a more personal note, Jagger’s connection to Wrangler stems from her own nostalgia, being the daughter of American model Jerry Hall and legendary frontman for The Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger. She said in a press release, “My Mum always wore Wrangler jeans when I was growing up. Every time I go back to Texas, I go to the boot barn and buy Wrangler jeans like my Mum used to. And my Aunt Cindy is a rodeo champion, she used to wear her wranglers so tight that my Mum and my other aunts would have to help her get into them sometimes using a coat hanger to close the zip.”
Jagger added that Hall is her style icon: “Her style is so timeless. I love that she doesn’t take herself too seriously and when she loves something it stays with her for life. She’s not worried about trends, just what makes her feel good.”
That sort of ease of character is every bit as present within Jagger as it is within every seam of Wrangler jeans. The Women’s Heritage Collection is available now at a retailer near you.
