Jil Sander Returns to Uniqlo for a new +J AW20 Collection.

Jil Sander, the queen of minimalism, is back at Uniqlo for a new AW20 collection under her +J label. It’s been almost 10 years since Sander last worked with the popular Japanese brand. Between 2009 and 2011, her Uniqlo exclusive collections were a big hit with shoppers. Fashion lovers adored the ‘sophisticated essentials’ on sale and snapped up these versatile pieces until they sold out. Needless to say, the 2020 Jil Sander x Uniqlo collection arrived at the perfect time. Anything to make this crazy year more bearable, right?

Sander is an industry legend. In 1968 she launched her eponymous label after working as a fashion editor for Petra Magazine. Later on, she’d present her first Paris show in 1975. Even though critical reception for the show was poor, Sander would soon prove the naysayers wrong. Eventually, her super sleek designs caught on. They became the fashion industry standard for great minimalist clothing.

Right now, Uniqlo is well-equipped for another Sander collaboration. After all, they’re also passionate about creating sturdy wardrobe staples. This is most apparent from their LifeWear range that offers essential pieces like thermal tops and stretchy jersey jumpers. What’s more, the brand is no stranger to great designer collabs. In the past, they’ve worked with the likes of JW Anderson and Alexander Wang to create numerous sell-out collections.

For the new Jil Sander x Uniqlo AW20 range, Sander offers a selection of thoughtfully designed clothing that is ideal for everyday life. Outerwear is a huge highlight of the collection. Both men and women will adore the range of streamline coats, classic button-up blazers, and snug puffer jackets on sale. To complement the outerwear, there are also various turtleneck jumpers and comfy cotton shirts to choose from. All in all, these no-fuss basics are a great addition to anyone’s autumn/winter wardrobe.
