Rudimental – Come Over (ft. Anne-Marie & Tion Wayne)

British drum and bass quartet Rudimental has teamed up with Anne-Marie and Tion Wayne for infectious new single “Come Over,” which seems to offer the first taste of their upcoming fourth full-length album.

Enveloped in an exhilarating and passionate tempo which immediately prompts listeners to pay attention, the band reminds us of their mastery over dynamic productions with this latest slice of summer bop heaven. With Anne-Marie’s feathery vocals bookended by breakout star Tion’s energetic verse, the track makes great use of mellow melodic structures that allow for Anne-Marie to explore ballad-style singing – as opposed to her usual playful musicality- before zigzagging into a signature pulsating rhythm that launches Tion’s spirited voice as the beacon of club music.

With a simplistic theme that explores the highs and lows of a relationship that invites you to bury the past and fall in love again, “Come Over,” doesn’t add anything ground-breaking in terms of lyrical arc, but the magnificent production with its thrilling pace, earworm instrumental of soulful synths and rich horns as well as ability to balance a hidden vulnerability with the allure of a warm summertime spirit sets the track apart.

Honing in on the sounds, scenes, and culture that shaped Rudimental as we know it, the track is their first new music since the March release of “Easy On Me” ft. The Martinez Brothers and “Krazy” featuring Afronaut Zu. Effortlessly bringing a soulful musicality with their roots in bass and synth-heavy dance music, the uplifting track re-establish the versatility of the band’s musical abilities.

Though there has been no official announcement -regarding the release date of the studio album and whether- “Come Over,” is set to be part of the forthcoming album, the dynamism and fresh sounds of their previous releases and this track hint at great things to come from the prolific act.
