Christian Cowan x Segway Ushers in a Transit Revolution

The next generation of travel is turning a corner into curated innovation and obligatory sustainability. Debuting an exclusive collaboration with Segway enters Christian Cowan, celebrated designer of the stars and fashion’s most intuitive name of 2020. The partnership offers a unique virtual spectacle exhibiting an edgy, avant-garde peek into Segway’s latest device, the Ninebot KickScooter Air T15.

To date, Cowan’s head-turning motifs are spewed across Hollywood’s most influential and coveted faces among the likes of Lady Gaga, Beyonce, and Naomi Campbell. Maintaining a fresh, youthful take on some of fashion’s most iconic silhouettes, the artist breathes life into designs buried in the depth of the past. Bringing the hype of the Segway back into 2020, Cowan’s efforts with the tech giant seems practically star-crossed in fate.

Taking the world into the universe that is the Ninebot KickScooter, the designer garnered a crew of pop culture icons to spread the inclusive, eccentric message that is Segway X Christian Cowan. In a modernistic 2:25 minute video, a slew of celebrities grace a stark white stage in vibrant, gleaming outfits and zany neon hairstyles. Among the celebrities featured are supermodels Heidi Klum and Helena Christiansen, Little Mix’s Jade Thirwall, and fellow fashion pioneer Marc Jacobs. The iconic posse of personas could break the internet alone, but it’s Segway’s Ninebot serving as the true star of the show. Dripping in custom baby pink crystals, the device shines just as bright as the starlets posing against its sleek design.

The Kickscooter Air T15’s compact, lightweight, and energy-efficient nature transforms the everyday commute through the city into the ultimate city goer’s dream. Its unique form is fashion’s best kept secret in accessories, and riders can feel that much more confident knowing their eco-friendly ride is benefitting their surrounding ecosystem. Not sold yet? How about the power passengers hold to lock, configure alarms from the palm of their hands via their personal smartphones? Even better, the fear of theft no longer lingers; with integrated GPS and anti-theft systems, riders can step off their scooters assured that maximum safety and security precautions are secured.

Cowan’s visual ushers in a futuristic era ready to revolutionize the future of transit; however, aiding the environment is hardly the campaign’s sole philanthropic mission. Featurette Lil Nas X held a distinctive position within the collaboration by merging with the fashion mogul to create the dynamic unisex ready-to wear-assembly benefitting the Loveland Foundation featured in the video. 100% of profits from garments sold will benefit Atlanta’s black queer youth by offering a multitude of life-changing therapeutic services.

Taking complete creative control of the project, Cowan describes the liberating experimental freedom as a true vision comes to life. “I’m so excited to be working with Segway on this partnership. Segway has given me total freedom in my design process to create special hand-crafted glitter vehicles for my muses that are part of my collection,” he begins. “As I’m always on the go and constantly want to choose alternatives that are more eco-friendly, I love being able to create something that not only is efficient and functional but also fabulous.”

The T15 scooter is set for a late 2020 release (pink crystals not included). Are you ready to take a ride into the future of movement?
