Troye Sivan – Rager Teenager!

A contemplative, lovesick lullaby, “Rager Teenager!” shows how the intensity of adolescent love can return with a single glance, never truly fading away.

Sivan blends his moody vocals with tinkling instrumentals to make an unforgettably melancholic sound.  The title itself refers to the instance after running into an old companion and makes you wonder: do you long to be young and in their arms again? Or do you long to feel something more fully than what you’re feeling now? He croons his decision in the second chorus, saying: “Hey, my lil’ rager teenager / Trying to figure it out / Live in a season of screaming / And turning it out.”

The music video accompanying the “Rager Teenager!” is all shot by Sivan, in what seems like his bathroom. Though the lyrics of the song would usually command a more conceptual video, Sivan uses the global lockdown to his advantage, showing his acting prowess through just his face and arms to tell the story of what is surely some of his greatest memories of going wild, losing himself in a crowd, and burning in his lover’s arms at night.

Sivan, who has amassed over 8 billion streams on Spotify and has been heralded by Time as “the perfect pop star,” will be releasing his conceptual 6-track EP, In A Dream, featuring fan-favorites Easy and Rager Teenager! on August 21st via Capitol Records.
