Coming from nothing to something is a story that many people will be able to relate to. It’s what makes them stand out from other artists – especially ones who come from the YouTube background. This shouldn’t, however, define the sort of music they create, as long as the authenticity is consistent.
When it comes to achieving goals and dreams, “Clean Up”, is a track that encourages determination and reminds us that everything takes time. Whether they decide to ‘Flex a lil summin on ’em just to let ’em know’, like a Rolex watch, or they ‘Don’t pick up the phone unless my agent says he’s payin’, there’s still the quality of being humble, which is a personality trait of both Chunkz and Yung Filly. Good things come to those that deserve it.
Whether it’s personal or career-related, there’s always room to improve. Never settling for less is what Yung Filly expresses through the lyrics, ‘Never basic, so just face it, not complacent so I chase it’. Having worked as hard as they both have done over the years; it is understandable that they are always hungry for more.
Many YouTubers take the leap into the music industry (such as KSI), and for some, the result may not have been what they wanted. But for creatives like Chunkz and Yung Filly, “Clean Up”, shows the seriousness of their musical ability, as well as the sort of people they are outside of it too.
If “Clean Up” is anything to go by, we can only expect more positivity translated through Chunkz and Yung Filly’s music, something the world desperately needs right now. Their music will no doubt allow us to find out even more about the pair – both as a loyal team and as determined individuals.
