Swedish soft-pop queen, LÉON, has today dropped the brand new single, “In A Stranger’s Arms”.
In her trademark style, LÉON manages to seamlessly intertwine melancholy and hopefulness in the entrancing song. Inspired by the internal change that happens when moving on from a heartbreak, “In A Stranger’s Arms” is about the willingness to throw yourself back in the deep end and take a risk with someone new.
According to LÉON, “Over the past few years, I’ve learned how to go with my gut and steer the wheel myself. If it doesn’t feel right to me, I don’t pursue it. In the end, I stand behind the music I make, and I’m in control.”
Now that’s an outlook we can get behind. In an interview last year, LÉON told us how she’d surpassed her manager’s opinion on a song for her album – he said it wasn’t the right fit – and she put it on anyway. Of course, LÉON was right.
Since releasing her debut eponymous album last year, LÉON has been playing a ton of live shows and, if “In A Stranger’s Arms” is anything to go by, writing new music too.
Here’s hoping we get more tunes this year.
