Madison Beer has today dropped the first single off her forthcoming album. “Good In Goodbye” is a super catchy breakup anthem that anyone who’s been in an unsavory relationship can relate to. The chorus especially outlines this experience:
You put the “over” in “lover,” put the “ex” in “next”
Ain’t no “I” in “trouble,” just the “U” since we met
‘Cause you’re toxic, boy, I ain’t even gonna try to find the
“G-O-O-D” in “goodbye”
Of the track, Beer says: “It feels so good to be releasing the first single from my debut album! Touching on a theme that resonates throughout the album, ‘Good In Goodbye,’ is predominately a break up song. It’s about how cutting ties with a toxic person, no matter how tough it can feel at the time, is sometimes the only way forward and you should always find the ‘good’ in ‘goodbye’. It also touches on the duality of condemnation and self-reflection you often go through at the end of a relationship.”
A truly badass 3 minutes 24 seconds, Beer, clad in a Tomb Raider-style outfit, uses supernatural powers in an immersive video game to delve “deep into my inner demons, playing myself and my evil twin.”
Fans drew their own theories from the captivating video, with one user commenting: “Its as if Madison is showing how she learned to accept her emotional side but also her rational side and has found a balance with the two which only made her stronger.”
The EUPHORIA cover star alumni has accrued over 1 billion streams globally to date. “Good In Goodbye” is the first song Beer has released since her feature on the dance smash, “All Day And Night” from mega producers, Jax Jones and Martin Solveig.
