MEDUZA

Their breakthrough single, “Piece of Your Heart” stormed the charts and dominated the airwaves in both the UK and US when it was released in February. Since then, they’ve continued on a high, and recently dropped another dancefloor destroyer, “Lose Control” last month.

Whilst they may only have two singles to their name, Meduza’s reputation is growing stratospherically, elevating them almost to the same league as long-time producers Oliver Heldens, The Chainsmokers and Galantis.

We caught up with the hitmakers on their incredible success, touring, working with Becky Hill and Goodboys, and what’s next.

Did you ever anticipate the success of “Piece of Your Heart” when creating it?

We just make the music that we love and feel we would enjoy listening to. We don’t make music with the focus of being successful, only of making quality house music.

Your recent single “Lose Control” features Becky Hill. How did the collab come together?

We have always been a fan of Becky’s writing/vocal skills so we got in a session with her and the goodboys in London at the start of 2019, we think it came out very well.

You also teamed up with Goodboys again for the track. What do you enjoy most about working with them?

The chemistry. We really enjoy working together on music and it comes naturally when we’re in writing sessions. We’re big believers in following what feels right, also they are amazingly genuine people which we love.

You’ve been playing a lot of live shows this year around the world. What are the highs and lows of that for you?

Manchester Warehouse Project without any doubts is my fav show until now, the underground atmosphere was incredible and ppl reacted to every track in a positive way, we travelled together into an 1Hr and 30 Min journey into the house music and into the melodies, i can compare that moment like writing a story for an author. There haven’t been too many lows so far – maybe just the long flights. But I am getting used to those.

What’s next for you?

We have lots of plans for the new year, but for the rest of 2019 you can expect one more remix to come which has been destroying dancefloors everywhere for us.
