17-year-old Brooklyn native and singer-songwriter, Chloe Lilac, shares an exclusively curated playlist for EUPHORIA on her greatest influences in celebration of the release of her debut EP.
“Manic Pixie Dream [EP] was all about growing up and coming into my own as a young woman. These were the songs and artists that really inspired me throughout me writing the EP.”
1)Â Hole – Celebrity Skin
This song really inspired my song “Summer.” It’s such a fun, energetic song, and I was really inspired by that energy.
2)Â Car Seat Headrest – Fill In The BlankÂ
I also love the energy in this song! It reminds me of being a teenager, this whole album is a coming of age teen soundtrack.
 3) Nothing But Thieves –  If I Get High
This song really inspired “Jesus Couldn’t Love Me.” It really touched me in a way I couldn’t describe.Â
 4) Lauryn Hill – Doo-Wop (That Thing)
This song and Lauryn Hill in general sonically, is a huge inspiration to me.
5) Lil Uzi Vert – XO Tour Llif3
This was a song I listened to wayyyy too much when I was 15. This EP’s really about that time in my life, and it just really reminds me of sophomore year.
 6) Jakob Ogawa – Velvet Light
Velvet light is such an inspiring track for me from the progression to the production to the lyrics. A bedroom pop masterpiece.
7)Â Lana Del Rey – Video Games
I’d say Lana Del Rey is one of my biggest inspirations. Video Games makes me cry every time I listen to it.
8)Â The Cardigans – Lovefool
Again, a song I used to listen to all of the time, and really reminds me of the desperation of a high school crush.
9)Â Coldplay – Fix You
This is such a classic. This song also really inspired “Jesus Couldn’t Love Me.”
10)Â Paramore – The Only Exception
This song gives me crazy nostalgia.
