EUPHORIA today premieres the music video for Rae Isla’s latest track, “American Paradise”.
The song is an enchanting mix of Americana and alt-pop, filled throughout with Rae’s warm yet vulnerable transcending vocals. It’s also a love letter to an idyllic Californian locale; a region that has historically been represented as a destination of boundless potential and dream actualisation.
Rae says of her new track: “‘American Paradise’ is about the warm and pure feeling of love before it’s corrupted by the cold inevitability of change. Living on the east coast as a transplant can often feel very cold—literally and figuratively. There’s this desire to travel and find something new and warm, a pursuit that is characteristically American and perfectly embodied by California.”
The single and coupling music video follows on from Rae Isla’s late 2018 debut EP, No Longer Blue. Across the five-track record, Rae unites her experiences of love, loss, and self-acceptance.
With a show at New York City’s Gramercy Theatre under her belt too, it’s clear that Rae Isla is emerging into her own, and her latest offering only serves to establish that further.
