What made you want to pursue acting? Do you remember when you realized it’s what you were meant to do?
Since I was a little girl, I’ve always enjoyed acting. I played the lead role in my school play in 3rd grade. I knew at a young age that acting was something I wanted to pursue but my family, as well as I, was very big on education which is why I went to school for Accounting.
You are a certified accountant– What inspired the change from accounting?
Before I decided to move to LA and pursue acting, I was an accountant for 3 years. Prior to that, I went to college and earned my Bachelors and Masters in Accounting. As time went by, I wanted to pursue my first love, which was acting. I realized I had a degree to fall back on and it was time for me to pursue my dreams.
What other genres are you interested in pursuing next?
I would love to pursue Drama and Sci-Fi next. I’m also a Sci-Fi freak so I would love to be apart of a Sci-Fi film.

Some of my favorite actors/actresses that inspire me include Viola Davis, Will Smith, Zoe Saldana, Lupita Nyong’o, Issa Rae, and Meryl Streep to name a few.
What are some of your favorite genres of music? Artists?
My favorite genre of music is hip hop, rap, and R&B. I’m a big music junky! I love to have a balance between genres. There are days when I want to turn up with my girls and listen to rap and hip hop and then there’s the day I like to vibe and kickback to my R&B. My all-time favorite artists are Drake, Meek Mill, Eric Bellinger, Jhené Aiko, and Sabrina Claudio.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
The best piece of advice I’ve ever received would be from my parents, which was to follow my dreams. They always taught me to be independent and never be complacent.
Tell us a bit about Starter Pack.
Starter Pack is a comedy around a girl named Ayana, who just graduated with a Masters in Art and is trying to balance out her life between her career, friendship, and relationship.
What’s your character, Ayana, like? How do you relate to her?
Ayana is a witty, fun and down to earth girl. I was able to relate to her because just like Ayana I, too, had a point in my life where I felt like I didn’t know what to do after college. We are also passionate: Ayana was very passionate about her craft and so am I. I think that’s what I loved most about Ayana was her passion and drive for what she loves.
What was your process like preparing for the role?
While preparing for this role, I honestly went back to how I felt at that same stage in my life. How did I feel after graduating and finding that dream job? How did I feel when I went on several job interviews hoping that this was the one? I just had to put myself in the same place as Ayana and remember how that felt.
What were some of your favorite moments in filming?
Some of my favorite moments while filming were hanging out and laughing with the crew. My castmates and I always had a great time and had plenty of laughs and made great memories.
What’s been your favorite part of playing Ayana?
My favorite part of playing Ayana was just being able to play someone else. It’s always fun to play someone else and put your own twist to the character.
You were recently highlighted on the NY Time’s Watch List! That’s amazing, congratulations! How’d it feel finding out?
This was amazing. Anytime I’m recognized, of course, it’s an honor. Being that this was the first show I had ever been a part of and to see that it was highlighted on the NY Times Watch List just made me so grateful. It also pushes me to go even harder.
We hear you’re a big skincare fanatic, what are five of your favorite must-have products?
I am! I believe skincare is so important because that’s the first thing people see. My top products are a good facial cleanser, a mask, moisturizer, exfoliator and an under eye product. Some of my favorite brands include Clinique, Derma-E, Purlisse, and Peter Thomas Roth.
Right now, I’m working on several projects as far as writing. I’m also perfecting my craft by continuously taking acting classes. My next goal is to move to the big screen and book a movie role. Although this is just the beginning, I’m super excited for the future.
