When Lauv blasted onto the scene with his hit single “I Like Me Better”, he set the bar quite high for himself as an artist. Well, Lauv proves he is here to stay with his brand new track and music video for “There’s No Way” in collaboration with Julia Michaels, who gained popularity with her smashingly successful single “Issues” last year.
The pop ballad features both artists lamenting about an unspoken passion between two lovers; “There’s no way that it’s not going there/With the way that we’re looking at each other/There’s no way that it’s not going there/Every second with you I want another.”
In the video, the tension between the two builds as they share a duet and slow dance in an empty venue, but it is soon revealed that both of them already have lovers of their own and that this fling would go unrequited.
Supported by a punchy drum beat and dreamy vocals, each verse in “There’s No Way” builds more and more each time around, leading to a hopeful and crowd-pleasing chorus that sounds like it could be featured in the next hit high school romance film. “There’s No Way” is yet another worthy addition into Lauv’s impressive catalogue of catchy tunes.
