After a short 4 month break following their last release, “Barbiturates,” Kent 4 piece Get Inuit are back with a fresh new single. “All My Friends” is an ode to those that seem to have their lives on track and in some sort of semblance of togetherness. It opens with a bold, figurative statement: “All my friends are dead.” This lyric prepares us for what can only be considered the typical wild ride that Get Inuit always promise.
The whole tune is hoppy and fun and creates this audible persona for the message the band is conveying, in that it opposes the notion of following the stereotypical guidelines society has set out for us. The lively nature of the track is youthful and energetic and defies the unfortunate simpleton, “mature” demise that all of these friends have fallen into.
Concluding with “I’m a child and it’s terminal” cements the fact that no matter what happens moving forward lead singer Jamie Glass, along with his band mates, will always retain that adolescent vigor attached to being young. Towards the end of the month on May 25th Get Inuit has a stacked show at Dingwalls in Camden Lock, London and have just announced they will be supporting ASH on their summer tour.
