Music fans have been hot on the heels of London indie rockers Blush since they released the brilliantly catchy “Daggers” ten months ago. Having only existed for a year, you might be forgiven for thinking that the quartet to be another case of hype-machine fever. But if latest single is anything to go by, the band won’t be fading away too fast.
Released through Rough Trades’ brilliant sister label End Of The Trail Records, “Crying Glitter” is a rush of emotive, anthemic indie rock from the forgotten late 00s. The track’s supporting music video feels slightly amateur yet wonderfully sincere, showing glimpses of the fresh-faced four-piece and snippets of a girl sprinting down streets to a soundtrack of sparkling guitars and huge vocals. If you’re still struggling to get the picture, think White Lies meets early Killers in a stylized Vegas bar brawl.
