North East duo Seafret are back with new single “Blank You Out,” Jack Sedman and Harry Draper’s first offering since the release of their debut album, Tell Me It’s Real, at the start of the year.
The fresh track is a wonderfully warm number which gives off the same hearty, feel-good vibes not dissimilar to Young the Giant’s “Cough Syrup.” Beginning with an emphatically strummed acoustic guitar, it builds into a bright indie-folk tune that immediately lifts spirits and gets feet tapping, even through the subdued bridge which manages to carry a melancholy feel across the same tempo.
An ode to modernity, Sedman explains, “Sometimes in life you’d give anything to be with the person or people you love the most. “Blank You Out” is about trying to find a way to distract yourself in the times you are separated from them.”
