You might recognize his name from his platinum-selling collaboration on “Perfect Strangers” with Jonas Blue, which is close to 200 million streams on Spotify. Now, JP Cooper is back with his latest single, “September Song.” In the past year, the English singer-songwriter has put up one spectacular performance after another while on tour in festivals such as Bestival and supporting Stevie Wonder. JP Cooper’s musical prowess has wowed several big names in the music scene, including Stormzy and Ed Sheeran.
The song wows you with its infectious laid back melody, with a groovy beat that makes you want to get a group of strangers to get up and dance along with you. I am personally not a big fan of the genre to start but “September Song” has got me absolutely hooked right on my first listen. His vocals are smooth and soulful in this tune. Especially in the chorus, he brilliantly shows off his vocal range as he fills the song with awesome vocal runs and high note belts. All leading up to a grand finale filled with layered harmonies and an upbeat backing beat.
“September Song” is off JP Cooper’s forthcoming album, due to be released later this year. I am definitely eagerly anticipating the album and cannot wait to hear more from him.
