Sitting short and sweet clocking in at just over two and a half minutes, “Hello Today” is the new offering from Brighton four piece Black Honey. The alt rockers have another singalong anthem to add to their already solid collection of grungy pop-rock gems.
The track got its first spin on BBC Radio 1’s Introducing show with long time Black Honey supporter Huw Stephens. As the first release following their Headspin EP which was released earlier in the year, the band are sticking to their guns keeping their blend of the psychedelic 60s and edgy 90s in perfect balance yet again.
Izzy B Phillips delivers and confirms she’s one of the most exciting front-women in music. Black Honey are also one of those bands you need to see live, everything about their studio recordings scream potentially amazing live band – and I can testify that they follow through on that. “Hello Today” is a gutsy return for one of the UK’s greatest new bands.
