KYKO is no stranger to us here at EUPH. In the past year, we’ve seen the 20-year-old release two stunning singles, “Native” and “Pull Me Up.” While both of them have racked up over a million streams each on Spotify, his latest might be our favorite. The first off his upcoming Wildlife EP, “Horizon” is a real treat for the ears.
His past tracks have exuded a cheery summer vibe, combining African-inspired beats with electro-pop instrumentals to produce uplifting melodies. “Horizon” manages to take it to the next level. It’s remarkable how KYKO manages to retain his signature style without even straying near ordinary. Definitely one who takes risks, the track incorporates more electronic effects that act as harmonies as an added new twist.
With its afrobeat backbone, the track is the perfect accompaniment to your Indian summer. The lyrics are dreamy and sweet as KYKO sings about a person who’s seemingly always on his mind: “you’re with me wherever I go.” The moment the track hits your ears, you’ll find it impossible to sit still and not dance in your seat. With his brand of tropically infused pop, “Horizon” shows off once again his knack for writing fresh tunes that make your heart flutter.
It’s definitely nice to hear KYKO back again. KYKO’s Wildlife EP is due for release in Winter 2016 and by the looks of it, Christmas is about to become merrier.
