High Tyde are Cody Thomas-Matthew (vocals & bass), Connor Cheetham (guitar), Spencer Tobias-Williams (guitar) & Louis Semlekan-Faith (drums), and they are very young. Still in their teens in fact, but you wouldn’t know it from their latest single “Speak.” With an impressive three EPs under their belt “Speak” is the first offering off of their upcoming fourth EP “Real.” It’s loud and boasts face melting guitar solos, while Thomas-Matthew sings with an impressive emotional range, at times sentimentally crooning and at others snarling with urgency.
Fans of The Kooks or early Arctic Monkeys will likely enjoy High Tyde’s angst-ridden brash rock. So far the band has had an impressive touring history, touring with bands such as Little Comets and Peace. However, if you’ve missed them before don’t worry– High Tyde will tour throughout fall and return to London in November.
