Self-styled power pop quartet Native People start the month on a high note with the release of new single “Call Me.”
The youngsters from Folkestone, Kent have been honing their indie-dance sound on the live circuit since 2013 and have already had previous singles “Calm Forever” and “Don’t Save Me” championed by BBC Introducing. This latest offering is the first to be lifted off their upcoming debut EP due later this year via the band’s own label Wham Head Records. “Call Me” has an incisive, crisp guitar line that pierces its way through the song as a jangly 80s-inspired synthpop undercurrent sings out from underneath.
Its energy will no doubt have warmed audiences to the band on their hefty summer tour and with dates still to play at Sheffield’s Tramlines festival, Wickham Music Festival in Hampshire and a trip across to Germany for Summer Sounds, Native People are making plenty of noise in every sense of the word.
