“Suffocate” is the latest track from East London duo Night Games. “Suffocate” is haunting and layered. It begins with warbling synths and Constance’s brooding and airy vocals. The track feels like a dark and muted bedroom, with layered production from Paul that builds the song into an anguished but melodic plea. Lyrically “Suffocate” is mournful. “Drive me home in a blindfold / so I can’t see / This is not what was meant for me,” croons Constance desperately.
The song is at once secretive and open, hard and soft. Fans of Lana Del Rey or FKA Twigs would likely enjoy Night Games’ lush and disquieting music. The band is currently on an intimate tour of the UK.
