Following the success of his two EPs You Jump I Run and Proof Enough, Will Joseph Cook has just released his first music video for his latest single, “Girls Like Me”. The 19-year-old English singer-songwriter and his surf-pop melodies have helped him build up quite a name, landing him in quite a few festivals last year.
“Girls Like Me” brings back the signature quirky sound we all recognize. Incorporating elements of funk and blues, the infectious, summer-filled track features a eclectic guitar melody and nicely highlights his distinctive vocals.
The video is an adorable one. Filled with shots of Will geeky dancing, it tells the story of Will going speed dating with different girls but finding out that most of them are a little insane, until one day he bumps into the one. Everything goes well until one of the crazy girls track them down and stabs them.
The colourful, dramatic video definitely pairs well with the quirky tune, reminding us once again why we love Will Joseph Cook, for representing the unique, weird and strange side we all have within us.
