LÃ¥psley is the sobriquet of Liverpool songstress Holly Fletcher. At only 19 years old, the electronica prodigy laid a heavy impression on the musical universe with her 2015 debut EP Understudy. Fletcher recently announced her forthcoming debut album Long Way Home. In anticipation of her album’s release, Fletcher shared the track “Love is Blind” off of her album.
Fletcher’s intrepid voice cuts through wispy instrumentals in this placid ballad that showcases the vitality of the singer’s vocals. Producer Rodaidh McDonald of The XX composes a blissful song of tranquility, bringing the listener to the heavens by combining Fletcher’s lionhearted delivery of lyrics like “I know I may look a little dazed / Burn on the edge, acting like it phases me” with a transcendent echo of harps, drums, and the piano. Fletcher bridges the gap between her and her audience by delivering a gripping aria about the misgivings of love and traversing through the maze of getting older in the most sterling way she possibly could.
Long Way Home is slated to release March 4th through XL Recordings. View the tracklist below.
