“All the crazy things you do keep running through my mind. I wish I could control the way I feel.”
We’ve got a spanking new duo for you by the name of KINGDM, and they’ve just released their debut track, “Can’t Get Over You.” Based in London and LA, these fellas face the music confidently with a danceable track that’ll put you in the mood for summer all year round.
“Can’t Get Over You” is a snappy tune full of soul vocals, funky piano chords, and electro beats and rhythms. Let me ask you: Do you ever walk into a store and—before setting your eyes on the products— are instantly hooked to that one particular track they blast over the speakers? This is the type of song I’d imagine myself Shazam-ing at the mall. It’s a feel-good tune that you’ll want to play on repeat in the car, at home, or at a nice low key party with a few good friends catching up over wine and good food. In a way, the song makes you feel luxurious, invincible, and good. There’s just something about rhythmic clapping in a song that always does it for me. It’ll always get me clapping along or bobbing my head without a care in the world. It’s got an infectious hook for sure.
The message of the song is simple. It’s about that indescribable euphoric feeling you get when you’re completely infatuated with someone. It’s like that one scene in the movie 500 Days of Summer where Tom describes how Summer makes him feel, saying “I love how I hear this song every time I think of her.” This song sums it up. KINGDM made a brilliant move for their debut single, and I can’t wait to see what else they have up their sleeves.
