“I’ll be one step closer to the morning sun, one way or another I’ll crawl my way along”
Dance-pop duo Klyne hails from the Netherlands and is made up of vocalist Nick Klein and producer Ferdous Dezhad. Their latest single “Closer” is a infectious electronic track, that utilizes both Klein’s vocals and Dezhad’s talented production to the highest potential. The song opens with a pulsing electronic beat, almost like a heartbeat, before radiating synths inch their way onto the track and Klein’s vocals take hold. With a voice that’s at once gruff and syrupy silky, Klein gets us singing along by the first chorus. “Closer” has a chorus that is a sort of motivating anthem. It’s the perfect mix of simplicity and emotionality that gets you ready to chant along with your friends. While Klein sings, Dezhad works his magic. The track features warbling synths and a masterful backing beat that is at once unique and intensely danceable.
“Closer” is next in a line of singles that are generating a fair amount of buzz. Earlier this year the duo released “Paralyzed” along with an accompanying music video that garnered much play and praise. With what we’ve seen from Klyne, we can only expect more good things to follow. If you’re a fan of Years & Years, like dancey electronic jams, or just want to check out something new, definitely give Klyne’s “Closer” a listen on their Soundcloud, we promise you won’t be disappointed!
