At just twenty-two years old, Jack Garratt has demonstrated more instrumental mastery than many other late and great musicians. With a sound all his own, Garratt has exemplified his superb ability to mix moving messages with striking production.
Those lucky enough to have caught Garratt’s June shows at LA’s Troubadour were gifted with the live performance of new track “Weathered.” Garratt’s latest offering is stunning and soulful with its top notch vocals and illustrious instrumentals. Garratt’s range is continuously impressive as he transitions from a fragile falsetto to soaring, determined vocals. With a consistent beat laced throughout, “Weathered” picks up its pace with a chorus-like climax and dynamic production; the track then quiets to a soft and effective finish. Garratt succeeds in making “Weathered” feel both expansive and intimate, which is a true testament to the British musician’s talent.
With two critically acclaimed EPs under his belt, Garratt certainly has many admirers eagerly awaiting the release of an inevitable debut album. EUPHORIA. is certainly one of them and we couldn’t be more excited to hear what Garratt has to offer next.
