North London-band Wolf Alice’s latest offering is a sweet and lingering track that feels like summer dresses and cold sand on your toes. With a fuzzy quality that makes the whole song intimate and personal, “I Saw You” has been on heavy rotation for me as spring approaches. Ellie Rowsell’s voice is at times tentative and soft and at others undulating with unrestrained sentiment. Vocals are backed with a melodic acoustic guitar, creating a stripped down sound.
Wolf Alice’s debut album My Love is Cool is dropping June 22, and their EP Heavenly Creatures was released in 2014. But if you want to get your hands on a physical copy of their track “Giant Peach,” a limited edition 7” vinyl is available April 13th with the B-Side “I Saw You (In A Corridor).”
