“I don’t want to go to school. I just want to break the rules. Boys and girls across the world, putting on our dancing shoes, going to the discotheque, getting high, getting wrecked.”
Broods have taken Charli XCX’s fun summer hit “Break the Rules,” and given their own personal twist on it. They have turned the high-energy dance tune into a darker, colder and almost industrial track. It sounds like a completely different song with a threatening emphasis on the lyrics “till we die.” It doesn’t, however, get obnoxious like some remixes tend to do, but instead sheds a gloomier and perhaps more intriguing light on the original.
