On January 16, 2014, Anberlin announced they would be disbanding in 2014 after recording their seventh and final studio album, Lowborn, on their original label Tooth & Nail Record, and touring one last time. Anberlin, an American rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida, consists of Stephen Christian (lead vocals, keyboards), Joseph Milligan (lead guitar, backing vocals), Deon Rexroat (bass), Nathan Young (drums), and Christian McAlhaney (rhythm guitar, backing vocals). After signing with semi-independent record label Tooth & Nail Records, they released their debut album, Blueprints for the Black Market.

In 2005, the band released their second album, Never Take Friendship Personal and they released their third album, Cities in 2007. Cities became their first album to reach the Top 20 of the Billboard 200, selling 34,000 copies in its debut week. After signing with Universal Republic, they released New Surrender in 2008, which peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard 200. Their first single “Feel Good Drag” claimed the #1 spot on the Alternative Songs chart. Anberlin later released “Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place” and their sixth studio album Vital was released October 16, 2012, and re-released on Big3 Records under the title Devotion a year later on October 15, 2013.

Anberlin played Boston’s House of Blues for their Final Tour on November 12, 2014. Taking the stage with electrifying energy, enthusiasm and passion they gave Boston an outstanding final performance. With the air of finality looming throughout the night, everyone onstage put on the performance of a lifetime. Christian’s vocals were flawless and powerful throughout the night. Guitarists Milligan, McAlhaney, and bassist Rexroat showed off technique and skill in instrumental solos throughout the set. Young’s drumming was heart pounding and accompanied with band mates made for an unforgettable performance. Playing hits like “Never Take Friendship Personal,” ”Someone Anyone,” and “Readyfuels,” they had Boston fans roaring the entire night. The band came back onstage to end the night with an encore performance of “(*Fin)”.

Anberlin gave Boston a night to remember, and left on a perfect note.
