“Hey, I wanna make you mine”
Festival season is very much here. Like a lot of 18-year-old’s, Kentish newcomer Will Joseph Cook will be at Glastonbury this year. Unlike the majority, however, he’ll actually be on stage performing. To celebrate, the teen has put out the first taste of his second EP in the form of “Beach.”
Writing and recording the EP across weekends and breaks from school with producer Hugh Worskett at the Biscuit Factory, Cook clearly had the summer holidays on his mind when he wrote this first track. “Beach” will sit well with a festival crowd thanks to its sun-soaked surf-pop guitar and simplistic and catchy chorus. Evidently both a talented songwriter and instrumentalist, his songs “Message” and “Daisy Chains” from debut EP You Jump I Run both topped the hypem chart.
The new Proof Enough EP doesn’t drop until August but trust us, it’s worth the wait. Meanwhile, as well as Glastonbury, Will Joseph Cook has a whole strong of festival appearances lined up this summer and tickets for his headline show at The Lexington go on sale on Friday.
